(1) The Republic of Türkiye identity number shall be included in all identifying documents issued in the name of persons, such as all kinds of forms, declarations, identity cards, tax identity cards, driving licences and passports.
(2) The Republic of Türkiye identity number shall be taken as the basis in all kinds of transactions and records of institutions and of other natural and legal persons.
(3) The opinion of the General Directorate shall be obtained on problems arising in the application of the identity number and on matters on which there is doubt.

MADDE 47 · Kullanımı
(1) Kişiler adına düzenlenecek olan her türlü form, beyanname, kimlik kartı, vergi kimlik kartı, sürücü belgesi, pasaport gibi bütün tanıtıcı belgelerde Türkiye Cumhuriyeti kimlik numarasına yer verilir.
(2) Türkiye Cumhuriyeti kimlik numarası kurumlar ile diğer gerçek ve tüzel kişilerin her türlü işlem ve kayıtlarında esas alınır.
(3) Kimlik numarasının uygulanmasında ortaya çıkan sorunlar ile tereddüt edilen hususlarda Genel Müdürlüğün görüşü alınır.
