(1) The following conditions are required of foreigners wishing to acquire Turkish citizenship;
a) To be of full age and to have the capacity to discern according to his or her national law or, if stateless, according to Turkish law,
b) To have resided in Türkiye uninterruptedly for five years preceding the date of application,
c) To confirm by his or her conduct that he or she has decided to settle in Türkiye,
ç) Not to have a disease posing a danger to public health,
d) To be of good moral character,
e) To be able to speak sufficient Turkish,
f) To have an income or a profession in Türkiye sufficient to provide for his or her own livelihood and that of the persons he or she is obliged to support,
g) Not to be in a situation constituting an obstacle in terms of national security and public order,
are required.

MADDE 11 · Başvuru için aranan şartlar
(1) Türk vatandaşlığını kazanmak isteyen yabancılarda;
a) Kendi millî kanununa, vatansız ise Türk kanunlarına göre ergin ve ayırt etme gücüne sahip olmak,
b) Başvuru tarihinden geriye doğru Türkiye'de kesintisiz beş yıl ikamet etmek,
c) Türkiye'de yerleşmeye karar verdiğini davranışları ile teyit etmek,
ç) Genel sağlık bakımından tehlike teşkil eden bir hastalığı bulunmamak,
d) İyi ahlak sahibi olmak,
e) Yeteri kadar Türkçe konuşabilmek,
f) Türkiye'de kendisinin ve bakmakla yükümlü olduğu kimselerin geçimini sağlayacak gelire veya mesleğe sahip olmak,
g) Millî güvenlik ve kamu düzeni bakımından engel teşkil edecek bir hali bulunmamak,
şartları aranır.
