Part Four: Corrections of Records › Chapter Two: Clerical Errors and Cancellation of Civil Registry Records
(1) Civil registry records established on the basis of a document not drawn up in accordance with the procedure shall be cancelled by a decision to be given by the court upon the request of the General Directorate or the civil registry directorates. The cancellation of annotations and explanations entered in the civil register shall also be subject to the same procedure.

MADDE 40 · Nüfus kaydının iptali
(1) Usûlüne göre düzenlenmemiş bir belgeye dayanılarak tesis edilmiş nüfus kayıtları Genel Müdürlüğün ya da nüfus müdürlüklerinin göstereceği lüzum üzerine mahkemece verilecek kararla iptal edilir. Nüfus kütüğüne düşülmüş olan şerh ve açıklamaların iptal edilmesi de aynı usûle tâbidir.
