Article 15

Ordinary individual and ordinary joint passports of Turkish citizens shall be issued within the country by the Ministry of Interior or, according to the authority to be granted by the Minister of Interior, by governorships, and in foreign countries by the consulates of the Republic of Türkiye.

If the passport holder so requests, his or her minor daughters and sons shall be registered in the companion section of the passport.

Persons registered in the companion section may not travel with that passport unless they are accompanied by the person to whom the passport has been issued.

Amended paragraph 4: 23/7/2010, Law No. 6009, Art. 58 Ordinary individual passports shall be issued valid for periods to be determined by the Ministry of Interior, without prejudice to the exceptions set out in the Law and provided that these are not less than six months.

Paragraph 5 repealed: 3/3/1993, Law No. 3868, Art. 2

The passports of persons called to the country to perform military service, and of Turkish citizens who are established to have become destitute in foreign countries, shall be extended for one month in order to ensure their return to Türkiye. Persons who do not have a passport shall be issued a travel document valid for one month.

Türk vatandaşlarının umuma mahsus münferit ve umuma mahsus müşterek pasaportları yurt içinde İçişleri Bakanlığınca veya İçişleri Bakanının vereceği yetkiye göre valiliklerce, yabancı memleketlerde Türkiye Cumhuriyeti konsoloslukları tarafından verilir.

Pasaport sahibi talep ettiği takdirde reşit olmayan kız ve erkek çocukları pasaportun refakat hanesine kaydolunur.

Refakat hanesine yazılı olanlar adına pasaport verilmiş bulunan kimselerin beraberinde bulunmadıkça o pasaportla seyahat edemezler.

(Değişik dördüncü fıkra: 23/7/2010-6009/58 md.) Umuma mahsus münferit pasaportlar Kanunda yazılı istisnalar saklı kalmak ve altı aydan az olmamak kaydıyla İçişleri Bakanlığınca belirlenecek sürelerde geçerli olmak üzere düzenlenir.

Askerlik hizmetini yapmak üzere memlekete celp edilenlerle, yabancı memleketlerde yoksul kalmış oldukları sabit olan Türk vatandaşlarının pasaportları Türkiye'ye dönüşlerini teminen bir ay süre ile uzatılır. Pasaportu olmayanlara bir ay süreli seyahat belgesi verilir.
