Article 26: Other provisions concerning residence permits

(1) For foreigners held in penal institutions as detainees or convicts, or in removal centres under administrative detention, the periods spent there shall not be deemed a violation of the residence permit period. The residence permits of such persons, if any, may be cancelled. Those among them who do not have a foreigner identification number may be given a foreigner identification number without the requirement of a residence permit.

(2) Foreigners who come to Türkiye having obtained a residence and work permit from consulates shall be obliged to register with the address registration system within twenty working days at the latest from the date of entry.

MADDE 26 · İkamet izinlerine ilişkin diğer hükümler

(1) Tutuklu veya hükümlü olarak cezaevlerinde ya da idari gözetim altında geri gönderme merkezlerinde bulunan yabancıların, buralarda geçirdikleri süreler ikamet izni süresinin ihlali sayılmaz. Bu kişilerin varsa ikamet izinleri iptal edilebilir. Bunlardan, yabancı kimlik numarası bulunmayanlara, ikamet izni şartı aranmadan yabancı kimlik numarası verilebilir.

(2) Konsolosluklardan ikamet ve çalışma izni alarak Türkiye’ye gelen yabancılar, giriş tarihinden itibaren en geç yirmi iş günü içinde adres kayıt sistemine kayıtlarını yaptırmak zorundadırlar.
