Article 11: Fixed-term and indefinite-term employment contract

Chapter Two: Employment Contract, Its Types and Termination

Where the employment relationship is not made subject to a term, the contract shall be deemed to be of indefinite term. An employment contract concluded in writing between the employer and the employee for work of a definite duration, or on the basis of objective conditions such as the completion of a specific work or the occurrence of a specific event, is a fixed-term employment contract.

A fixed-term employment contract may not be concluded more than once in succession (in a chain) unless there is an essential reason. Otherwise, the employment contract shall be deemed to be of indefinite term from the beginning.

Chained employment contracts based on an essential reason shall retain their fixed-term character.
